Everton NCS Groups

TJGF were again blessed this summer to be asked to support Everton in the Community and their amazing NCS programme. The National Citizen Service (NCS) is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity open to all 15-17 year olds in England, which helps you build your skills for work and life, while you take on new challenges and meet new friends.

Part of the programme has a day put aside for various charities and community based projects to come in and talk to around 100 young people per week over a 5 week period and get the chance to speak to them about things like what they do, the people they support, the advantages of volunteering, the projects they run and so much much more. In return the groups then decide if they want to raise money for a certain project or charity or even they can come and do some volunteering and helping in our various community projects.

It was an absolute pleasure and privilege to be part of this again for the 4th year and we were lucky enough to work with and help support lots of young people over the summer in various ways and through the various fundraising they did they raised over £1500 for TJGF. They also helped support our communities by helping in various clean up projects and supporting local groups. So a huge thank you to all the Everton NCS participants from us all at TJGF and I am looking forward to next year.
